Pike County Office of Economic Development
Created by the Pike County Board of Commissioners in July of 2018, the newly established Economic Development Department was formed to address the growing need within the community for a more diversified tax base and to develop and sustain a prosperous economy. The department is the force of engagement and activity in local government issues involving administration, project management, and developing innovative solutions that promote the interests and goals set forth by the County for creating opportunities of commercial, retail, and industrial growth. Assisting both the Pike County Board of Commissioners and the Development Authority of Pike County, and working closely with The Pike County Chamber of Commerce has created an unprecedented spirit of collaboration and cooperation, as well as expedited the navigation process for businesses seeking assistance and support.
The Pike County Economic Development Department serves as the liaison between the County, the business community, and State officials and agencies to facilitate and maintain the creation of business activity and investment, and to improve the overall economic well-being and quality of life for the community. This is done through business recruitment efforts, supporting and encouraging the expansion and retention of existing industries, creating an environment that encourages the success of small businesses, and attracting new quality development and capital investment. The department has targeted 5 objectives for successful economic development:

It is the priority of the department to provide a more robust economy, greater community amenities, and a more vibrant business sector. With a number of business/industrial parks and sites, as well as a desire for quality economic development, Pike County is an ideal place for commerce. Building upon strong working relationships with local, county, and state government officials and agencies, the Pike County Department of Economic Development is ready to form a supportive partnership with existing and potential businesses to assist with services such as location and expansion plans, network development, advocacy, and promotion.
